To me the Barksdale crew represent something like an old school ideal of what being the top dog gangster is like. Public Profile. They were arguably more effective because they didn't bring the gangster flare to their game, just ruthlessly efficient and almost bureaucratic.I wouldn't say he was cool because none of the gangsters really exuded that aura (neither did the cops, the Wire shows in life glorification of either of these demographics is silly) but he was definitely one of the best characters on the show.those two cuts to Snoop where she’s just like: Wee Bey and Chris becoming cut buddies in Jessup was very fitting. To Chris killing was a job. Like how a painter paints houses or builder build, Chris did it an didn't think anything of it.Told him I though his acting was phenomenal; he was really humble and could tell he didn't wan't to really talk about it, so we just shot the shit.I think you could argue that the Barksdale crew were really dam cool in the context of the show, depending on what you mean by that obviously.
