In my last year of journalism school, I discovered the author Jonathan Lethem, which got me writing short stories on the side. However, I will say that I don’t think I’ve heard a note from the Roots, don’t have a TV, so I haven’t seen I put a question mark after the word “review” in the title, because I feel this book review is less a review and more of a dialogue with the book. As the author amply shows, her can-do attitude was daunted at times by racism, leaving her wondering if she was good enough. Through it all, Obama remained determined to serve with grace and help others through initiatives like the White House garden and her campaign to fight childhood obesity.
