This isn't always great, because then you get fediverse politics, but it's necessary for when it is truly needed to control your instance, and I think the pros outweigh the cons (at least give the user those controls, minimally).I'm curious about why anyone would want to replicate reddit as a platform when it's clearly fundamentally flawed. Each Lemmy server can set its own moderation policy; appointing site-wide admins, and community moderators to keep out the trolls, and foster a healthy, non-toxic environment where all can feel comfortable contributing.
