No sign at the end of the AllTrails version of this trail, but just turned around at a cross-trail sign.There were lots of Mtn bikers we had to step aside for, so if you are okay with doing that this is a great beginner trail! ***Open now (fire closure nulled)***A good length trail for an early summer time hike. Bring plenty of water and apply lots of sunscreen if hiking at any point during middle of the day.ran into a snake. Which was dried out because we went in June. Waterfall Trail is barrier-free for 5/10 of a mile. It works its way back up on a pretty steep incline before reaching the 3 mile marker. I’ll definitely go back.
But its cheap. Many of the trails are pretty remote and look much more interesting to me than the Competitive Loop. I would recommend this trail for mountain goats. This is a really fun technical stretch of trail maybe a 1/2 mile long. There are 28 miles of multi-use trails in the park, not including the park's Competitive Loop which is already listed on Singletracks. Always keep your wits about you and carry some pepper spray. Fun and fast.

I loved it. There is some true singletrack (maybe 1.5 mile), and it is good. Summer is not a good time to see a waterfall. It’s too hot and there’s only still water lol but it was a nice shady area to rest before I walked back.Beautiful views. The county parks are a good choice for those just getting to know the trail. The whole park provides terrain for all ability levels and all types of riders.

Most succinctly stated, the Maricopa Trail is a microcosm of the Valley of the Sun.A brief uphill climb lands hikers on a ridge line with vistas of patchwork grids of cotton fields and subdivisions, agricultural flatlands and distant city high rises.
If you decide to hike the trail as a lollipop, or partial loop, using Picnic Area 7 as the start, the entire hike is approximately 8 miles. A couple of short stretches on this are advanced, but again, any intermediate rider can ride this section with a dismount or two maybe.There is a map available at the pay gate when you enter the park ($6 fee per car). Bring lots of water and electrolytes when walking in the hot sun for a whileSuper EASY but beautiful views!Waddell and Ford CanyonThis is a nice easy walking trail for family. Canyon and waterfall grotto at the end is so worth it.Very difficult hike but worth it.

Not only had to pay to enter as a member of the military on Memorial Day but most trails were either roped off or closed!There is not much to see on this hike, especially if the waterfall doesn't have water. Parking lot is huge with a nice kiosk and descriptive trail map, signage on the trail was very good and easy to follow.Tag a trail, bike, and/or a category.Wide trail with excellent signage. North side is steep and requires some bouldering. I would not choose it for a trail run.More than I expected. Saw two rattlesnakes on trail so keep your eyes open. The trail leaves this branch road at a sign 2.0 miles from the park entrance neat the picnic ramada and comfort station #6. Clean well marked trails. The next phase will roll out this year with designs for a spur trail that will connect with the planned 70,000-acre Vulture Mountain Regional Park in Wickenburg that’s on track to open in three to five years. Downloading of trail gps tracks in kml & gpx formats is enabled for White Tank. White Tanks Mountain Regional Park at nearly 30,000 acres makes this the largest regional park in Maricopa County. No matter where you live, chances are you’re not too from the Maricopa Trail.The route drops back down to the desert floor, slipping among picnic sites in an unassuming gnarled path.
